What is power steering?

The power steering system is a hydraulic system that makes turning your car easier. It amplifies your light force into a strong force. Hydraulic systems rely on fluid, and are highly pressurized. When your power steering fluid is dirty, it will dramatically reduce the life of your power steering pump. Keeping your fluid clean, and topped-off will keep it working properly.

What will happen if I don't fix my power steering?

Your power steering pump is powered by your car's serpentine belt. Your serpentine belt powers your Alternator, Water pump, A/C unit, and your power steering pump. When your power steering pump isn't fixed, it will overheat causing the pump to seize. When that happens, you could end up with even bigger problems.
