We know that some vehicles are just a tool to get to and from your destination. When they wear out we replace them. However, some vehicles are 'classics', 'collectibles', and 'old friends'. We name them, polish them, and discriminate when allowing another to drive it. We know this vehicle is important to you. At some point you may be decide it's time to give her a new lease on life and that's where we come in.

Sherwood Auto Repair can perform conversions and restoration of your treasure. We can convert your carburetion to fuel injection and in some cases replace your carbureted engine with a more modern fuel injected equivalent. We can rebuild or upgrade your drivetrain, or simply take your vintage machine and restore its mechanical integrity.

This is not a project you or we will take lightly. It may take time to source the right parts, and sometimes may require modification and/or fabrication. Needless to say it will take money as well. Before we take on a project, we'll sit down with you and discuss what you want and what your budget is. No project is the same. We will estimate the basic costs of the project and the length of time you can expect your vehicle to be down. Surprises may arise, delays may occur. We guarantee the end project will be worth waiting for.

• 1987 Jeep Wrangler 258 6cyl - conversion to fuel injection

• 1988 & 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer V8 - fuel injection conversions

• 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer V8 - engine replacement & conversion to fuel injection

One of our favorite conversions is on older Jeeps equipped with the carbureted 258 6cyl. We remove the factory 258 and install a low mile, late model fuel injected 4.0L 6cyl. The newer engine & electronics are much more reliable and provide better performance and fuel economy. Here are examples of vehicles on which we have performed this conversion:
