April is National Car Care Month

Happy National Car Care Month!

Every April the nonprofit Car Care Council celebrates National Car Care Month. Throughout the month they support national efforts to increase consumer awareness and education about the importance of regular car care and maintenance. Check out their website for educational tips and resources.

Sherwood Auto Repair supports National Car Care Month by sharing some of the organization's valuable information and reminding our customers to Be Car Care AwareⓇ.

April is the perfect month to take care of any overdue repairs that may have come up during the winter months, and get preventative maintenance scheduled in preparation for the busy summer travel season.

According the Rich White, Car Care Council’s Executive Director,

“A vehicle is a major purchase for most people, so it makes sense to take the time to select an auto repair facility that will take the best care of that investment...Being an informed auto care consumer means not only learning about your vehicle and its service needs, but also the facility that will make the repairs.”

We couldn’t agree more.

But how do I find a good repair shop?

In the carcare.org article, Ask Six Simple Questions to Select the Right Auto Repair Shop, they recommend asking the following important questions:

1. Does the company employ ASE-certified technicians?

Sherwood Auto only works with ASE-certified technicians.

2. Does the shop keep its waiting area clean and well-organized?

We strive to provide a clean and welcoming environment for our customers.

3. How are customers greeted and treated, in person and on the phone?

Treating our customers well is a high priority to the Sherwood Auto Team. We work hard to develop a lasting relationship based on trust and respect.

4. Does the shop give written estimates?

We always offer written estimates, take time to answer any questions you may have, and obtain prior authorization before any work is performed.

5. Do they offer a warranty for their work?

If we didn’t, we certainly couldn’t refer to ourselves as the “Home of the 3-year, 45,000 mile warranty”!

6. What do other customers have to say about the repair shop?
